Chapter 10

Poppy turned to the side and smiled at me with barely contained excitement, and Helena stepped slightly to the side so I could see what they’d seen.

Our narrow dirt trail ended about ten feet ahead of us, and it shifted into a wide-open area surrounded by the tropical trees of the island. The center of the space was filled with a crystal clear pool of water with smooth stone edges. A peaceful waterfall at the far end cascaded down into the pool like something out of a travel magazine.

“Yeah,” I murmured, and I couldn’t take my eyes off of the tiny paradise we’d found. “‘Wow’ is right.”

“I bet King Roman and Queen Vaeletta came here for romantic rendezvous,” Poppy mused with a dreamy look in her purple eyes.

“It’s so beautiful,” Helena agreed.

“I wonder if this was why King Roman picked this island,” I said.

“It wouldn’t surprise me,” Helena said thoughtfully.

“Um…” Poppy hummed, and she pressed her lips together as she bounced on the balls of her feet. “Are we going to just look… or…?”

“Oh, we’re definitely going to swim!” I laughed.

“Yay!” Poppy squealed and walked right over to a flat stone area.

She laid her backpack down and started unlacing her boots without another word, and in about a minute, she’d stripped down to her pink panties. Her iridescent wings fluttered, and her breasts bounced enticingly as she walked to the edge of the water.

“She doesn’t waste time,” Helena laughed quietly.

“Can you blame her?” I asked as I swiped the sweat from my face. “The temperature is about a thousand and one suns out here, and that water looks so good.”

“It does!” Helena said, and she scrunched up her face with exhilaration as she scurried over to Poppy’s things.

“Ooooooh, yeeeaaah,” Poppy moaned as she dipped her toes into the clear water.

“Does it feel good?” I asked.

“It’s like heaven,” Poppy murmured.

My teal-haired fae walked right into the water until she was in the center of the waist-deep pool, and then she dunked the rest of her body under the surface.

Helena’s laughter was like music as she stripped down to her black thong, and then she stretched out her tawny wings before she walked into the water.

“Ooooh, that is incredible,” Helena hummed with pleasure. “Michael, you have to join us.”

“Oh, I’m going to,” I assured them. “I was just a little distracted by the view.”

I removed my bag, clothes, and boots until all I had on were my boxers, and I laid them alongside my ladies’ discarded things. Then I hurried to submerge myself in the refreshing water.

“Ahhh, shiiiit,” I hissed like a hot pan in the sink as the cool water instantly sucked the heat out of my skin. “That’s so goooood.”

“Oh!” Poppy gasped with surprise.

“What is it?” I stood up and checked to make sure she was okay.

“It gets a lot deeper over here,” Poppy called.

She’d moved closer to the waterfall, and now she was treading water. Helena and I walked over, and we found there was a steep drop in the pool’s bottom on the back half.
